Climate change can be seen around us; what can we do about it?
As part of our Ten for Ten series, Harmony Centre is sponsoring three participatory climate-action activities that will culminate in a full stage performance in our Auditorium. These activities will help shape the vision of change we wish to create.
1) Earth Day Grey Bruce will be holding papier-mache puppet-making workshops on March 12 and 26 in the Harmony Centre Lower Hall to create animal figures to carry in the Earth Day parade.
2) During March Break, Sheatre and Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team will hold theatrical workshops to have participants, age 10 and up, create characters, scenes and stories together focussed on climate change and what we can do about it. These theatrical workshops will see puppets, costumes and characters come to life and will be performed during the Earth Day parade.
3) The Digital Directors film workshop for ages 14 and up will document the theatrical explorations during March break and then continue through March. Participants will learn the basics of creating with digital editing tools, and skills to hone narratives and perspectives while filming the theatre workshop and finalizing their films.
A screen and live performance bringing together all of these three actions will take place at Harmony Centre at a date to be announced following Earth Day.
All of these events are free to participate. Register here to ensure your spot in the Theatre workshop or the Digital Directors workshop. Register for the puppet workshops at earthdaygb22@gmail.com And watch this space for the date of the full performance.
