SUMMARY:An Evening With Red Dirt Skinners
DESCRIPTION:Roots Music Canada describe the Red Dirt Skinners as “The Pink Floyd of Folk Music.” Music News Magazine state that there is “an almost Floyd-like quality to some of their music.” The Red Dirt Skinners are widely regarded as one of the most innovative acts to come out of the UK in recent years. \nThe duo’s original style crosses more genres than would make sense to mention. They have won National and International Awards in Songwriting Rock Folk Blues Country Roots Alt-Rock and Indie Rock. If you are open to hearing new songs that are influenced by Pink Floyd Simon and Garfunkel Supertramp Queen and David Bowie coupled with some epic storytelling humour and heartfelt emotions you’ll love a Red Dirt Skinners concert.\nWith male and female harmonies blending together as one voice and Sarah’s trademark soprano saxophone solos you will be swept along by the refreshingly different sound of the Red Dirt Skinners. \nA Red Dirt Skinners concert combines captivating storytelling with knowing lyricism and outstanding musicianship. The Skinners have a natural rapport with their audiences and their live shows are a wonderful experience; a musical journey to remember. Be prepared for laugh-out-loud lyrics followed by songs sure to pull at your heartstrings. Rob and Sarah Skinner\, now Canadian citizens\, will steal your hearts. Don’t miss their show!

SUMMARY:Murder in the Commons Dinner Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Step into a shadowy world of intrigue\, laughter\, and delicious food as Murder in the Commons comes to Harmony Centre Owen Sound.\n\n\nOn Saturday\, May 30\, 2026\, Harmony Centre is transformed into a live crime scene for an immersive dinner-theatre experience where nothing is quite what it seems. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner while a cast of suspicious characters\, unexpected encounters\, and hilarious plot twists unfold all around them. \nThe evening begins with a reception at 5:30 pm\, followed by the murder at 6:30 pm. As clues emerge and alliances shift\, audience members are invited to play detective — or simply sit back and enjoy the show. One thing’s certain: you’ll die laughing. \nEvening Experience & Menu: Begin your evening at 5:30 pm with a reception in The Commons and live jazzy ’40s–’50s music featuring Karen May\, a cash bar\, and a selection of hors d’oeuvres including spring rolls\, spanakopita\, Thai meatballs\, and mushroom croustades. \nDinner follows in the Greaves Auditorium\, with a plated three-course meal crafted from seasonal\, locally sourced ingredients: a mixed greens salad with maple mustard vinaigrette\, followed by herb- and Parmesan-stuffed chicken with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Finish with lemon buttercream cake\, served with coffee and tea. Vegan and gluten-free options available. \nOptional but Encouraged: Dress like your favourite ’40s/’50s film noir character character — fedoras\, dinner jackets\, evening gowns… nothing elaborate is required — something as simple as a white shirt and suspenders will add a touch of atmosphere! \n \nThe Venue: The recent replacement of pews in the Greaves Auditorium with movable seating allows us to transform this majestic\, soaring space into an ideal setting for dinner theatre. With its remarkable acoustics and renewed flexibility\, it provides a stunning backdrop for Murder in the Commons. We look forward to showcasing this beautifully reimagined multi-purpose venue! \nEntertainment: A professional Toronto-based ensemble leads the evening’s intrigue\, joined by local personalities and special guests. \nTickets are limited and selling fast.  Get your’s now.
