Julie Devaney and Rob Whiteman are Registered Psychotherapists working with teens, adults, couples, and groups, in-person and online. Both trained at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto from 2015-2020, and have continued learning and practising both close to home and as far as the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California.
Gestalt Therapy and Practice can help you see how your ability to fully live your life gets interrupted. When we push down our difficult feelings (anger, shame, fear) we also lose access to our joy, our pleasure, our hope. Therapy can remind us how to access our spontaneity, unearthing our creative potential, our passion, and our motivation. Some issues we work with are:
- PTSD and Trauma
- Anger management
- Anxiety
- Life transitions
- Burnout
- Creative Blocks
- Codependency
- Recovery from bullying and abuse
Since no two people have the same story, working with what comes up in the present moment helps create a map of how you become activated and what self-support looks like for you. From here, we can collaborate on how to create space and boundaries for you to feel more safe and grounded in times of stress or perceived danger. Together, we will develop new ways to manage strong feelings, thoughts, and reactions in a way that is gentle and inclusive of yourself and your history.
