Standing proudly near the heart of Owen Sound, the historic Harmony Centre is a dynamic cultural institution dedicated to providing our community with accessible and affordable spaces to share, create, educate, and perform. Blessed with a 700-seat Auditorium, a 160-seat Commons area, a 190-seat Lower Hall with kitchen and banquet facilities, and numerous smaller lofts and studios, Harmony Centre is an established example of the value of retrofitting an existing community asset to respond to changing times, all the while maintaining the capacity and charm that makes historic buildings so compelling.
Since its establishment in 2012, Harmony Centre has been a hub of artistic excellence in Owen Sound. Founded by benefactors with a passion for the arts — and a vision of rescuing the beautiful 150-year-old building — Harmony Centre has become a place for creative expression and social enrichment. Over the years, we have welcomed countless performers and audience members, each contributing to the rich tapestry of art and culture that defines Harmony Centre.
At Harmony Centre Owen Sound, our mission is to effectively and responsibly manage and improve this building so that we can share welcoming, accessible, and affordable spaces for community use.
Harmony Centre is a charitable organization maintained and run by volunteers. We’re always delighted to welcome new energy and talent to our organization. Consider volunteering as an usher, join our maintenance crew, enquire about sitting on our board of directors or one of its committees, or explore with us opportunities for creative collaboration. Helping Harmony Centre do its work is a fun and fulfilling way to spend some volunteer hours. Let’s talk about how you can make a difference. Get in touch with us today.
