Dana Cowie Studio

Hi, I’m Dana Cowie. When I first traded brushes for palette knives, I fell in love with the direct application of paint. It’s sculptural and three-dimensional—I could lay down solid or streaky colours as shapes that I move around the canvas, creating rhythm and movement, texture and colour relationships that are, for me, meditative. My hope is that people will engage with my work on that level so they can see and feel a rhythm that becomes their own.
