Murder in the Commons Weekend & Shopping Experience

Harmony Centre is inviting local accommodations, restaurants, retail businesses, and sponsors to partner with us in creating a memorable “Weekend Away in Owen Sound” experience built around a unique event.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Harmony Centre will host Murder in the Commons, an immersive dinner-theatre mystery where guests enjoy a three-course dinner while a cast of suspicious characters and unexpected twists unfold around them. The event itself is designed to be a lively night out, but we are also encouraging visitors from outside the city to turn the occasion into a full weekend getaway.

To help make that happen—and to encourage both local and visiting ticketholders to explore and shop downtown—we are seeking local businesses willing to offer exclusive discounts to ticket holders, such as:

  • Accommodation discounts or special rates that encourage visitors to stay the weekend
  • Retail promotions or shopping discounts that invite guests to explore Owen Sound’s downtown shops
  • Special offers or themed menu items at participating restaurants and cafés

Nothing complicated is required: participants would simply present their Murder in the Commons tickets or a discount code to receive your promotion.

Together, these offers will allow ticket holders to build their own package, with Murder in the Commons as the centerpiece evening event and additional savings on shopping, dining, and accommodations throughout the weekend.

Harmony Centre is also seeking event and table sponsors who would like to support the fundraiser while receiving recognition and promotional benefits tied to the event.

Participating businesses and sponsors will be recognized in our event promotion, including social media, email announcements, and on our website. We will also actively encourage all ticketholders to support our community partners.

Proceeds from Murder in the Commons support Harmony Centre’s campaign to replace flooring throughout our historic 27,000-square-foot community building, a space used by thousands of people each year. The event is also supported by the Owen Sound Tourism Development Fund, recognizing its potential to attract visitors and showcase our community.

Businesses interested in partnering or sponsoring the event are invited to contact Jeff Elie at jeff@harmonycentre.ca to discuss opportunities.

Together we can create a compelling weekend experience for visitors while showcasing the best of Owen Sound’s hospitality, shopping, and dining!
