On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Harmony Centre is transformed into a live crime scene for an immersive dinner-theatre experience where nothing is quite what it seems. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner while a cast of suspicious characters, unexpected encounters, and hilarious plot twists unfold all around them.
The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 pm, followed by the murder at 6:30 pm. As clues emerge and alliances shift, audience members are invited to play detective — or simply sit back and enjoy the show. One thing’s certain: you’ll die laughing.
Evening Experience & Menu: Begin your evening at 5:30 pm with a reception in The Commons and live jazzy ’40s–’50s music featuring Karen May, a cash bar, and a selection of hors d’oeuvres including spring rolls, spanakopita, Thai meatballs, and mushroom croustades.
Dinner follows in the Greaves Auditorium, with a plated three-course meal crafted from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients: a mixed greens salad with maple mustard vinaigrette, followed by herb- and Parmesan-stuffed chicken with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Finish with lemon buttercream cake, served with coffee and tea. Vegan and gluten-free options available.
Optional but Encouraged: Dress like your favourite ’40s/’50s film noir character character — fedoras, dinner jackets, evening gowns… nothing elaborate is required — something as simple as a white shirt and suspenders will add a touch of atmosphere!

The Venue: The recent replacement of pews in the Greaves Auditorium with movable seating allows us to transform this majestic, soaring space into an ideal setting for dinner theatre. With its remarkable acoustics and renewed flexibility, it provides a stunning backdrop for Murder in the Commons. We look forward to showcasing this beautifully reimagined multi-purpose venue!
Entertainment: A professional Toronto-based ensemble leads the evening’s intrigue, joined by local personalities and special guests.
